UK makes 'good progress' on packaging waste and recycling |

Moves to cut packaging waste, increase recycling and reduce the amount of rubbish going to landfill are making good progress but the UK still lags behind much of the rest of Europe.Provisional municipal waste figures released by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) for October to December 2007 reveal a 1% drop in municipal waste to 28.8 million tonnes. |
